 power generator placed in front of the Ministry of Energy & Minerals in Dar es Salaam was the first power generator to produce electricity in Dar es Salaam, and was then situated in Kurasini, in1930. The power generator only produced a minimum of 80 Kilowatts. It was used for a few years then moved to Tanga, Arusha and Mwanza and was put to end in 1967 to bring in new advanced power generators
